Author’s Thinking Rhetorically Note 

The project I choose in this semester is to explore the influence of social media on the establishment and maintenance of adolescent friendship. For the target group of this project, I choose college students. On the one hand, I am in this group and have a good understanding of my peers. On the other hand, college students are also one of the groups that make friends through social media. They have a relatively fixed social environment and relaxed social ways, which are different from the restrictions on mobile phone use in middle school and the unstable interpersonal circle after graduation.

As for the use of social media, I think the excessive use of social media will do great harm to the establishment and maintenance of college students’ friendship. This can make friendships fragile and redundant. On the other hand, it is impossible to socialize and make friends without using social media. It must be admitted that social media does have a significant influence on social activities in modern times. My project is to analyze these effects and propose solutions for the audience to refer to.

For multiple model types, I use a short powerpoint presentation. It has several advantages: first, PPT can combine words with pictures to make my information clearer. Secondly, PPT can be converted to PDF, and it can be easily spread through many ways, such as WeChat, Facebook, and even some educational websites.

However, the shortcomings of PPT type are also obvious: I can’t choose to talk about all my content in my EADA project, so I focus on introducing my research results and putting forward good Suggestions for contemporary college students to make friends through social media.
